Overview

HalleyAssist's design centred on a small hub device connected to a flexible array of wireless sensors placed around a home or residence. The sensors measured presence, movement, sleep, and — the capability the company was proudest of — falls. No cameras were used, and no wearable device was required of the user.

The company reported install times of around 50 minutes, with no wiring or drilling, and the hardware was portable — it could move with a resident from home into residential care. Data was analysed and delivered to family and carers in real time, with significant issues pushed as immediate alerts. An optional voice speaker ("Vox") could deliver reminders — for hydration, medication, or appointments.

Users, according to the company's trial feedback, typically reported being unaware the hardware was even present, and did not feel it intruded on their privacy.

For families (consumer use)

Aimed directly at families, the app let a family member check on a loved one's wellbeing at a glance, at any time, from an iOS or Android app. It surfaced both short-term issues — being out of bed, a fall, a security event, a lack of motion, missed medication, low hydration — and slower-building, longer-term concerns such as signs of depression, infection, or a gradual change in routine that might indicate declining health.

For care organisations

Aged care providers, disability care providers, GPs, and local health services could use a multi-user "smart dashboard" in parallel with the family app, monitoring multiple HalleyAssist installations across single or multiple facilities from one place. A "traffic light" system flagged issues at a glance, with the ability to drill into detailed history for any individual hub. The pitch to organisations was that this replaced sporadic, subjective call notes with real, continuous data — movement, sleep quality and duration, time in and out of the residence, room-by-room activity, and (where connected) vitals like weight, blood pressure, pulse rate, and blood oxygen — while giving families visibility into the same alerts as professional carers, for shared confidence in the level of care being provided.

HalleyAssist HealthWatch™ — Remote Patient Monitoring

Launched in 2022, HealthWatch extended the platform to Remote Patient Monitoring, connecting an array of approved medical devices — blood pressure, glucose, weight, pulse oximetry, activity tracking — when clinically indicated, and delivering that data directly to clinicians as well as family. It was positioned around a "Hospital in the Home" model: enabling earlier hospital discharge and safe recovery at home, with the platform interoperable with existing clinical/hospital patient management systems so a patient's progress could be tracked against their personalised care plan.
